My personal views on study abroad:

It allows me, from an Asian Chinese family, to learn English in a Western country.

It's a good opportunity to supplement your living expenses here through part-time work; it's cost-effective (no need for hundreds or thousands of dollars).

You can also travel to European countries, especially Iceland and the UK, with more flexible schedules.

I've been in Ireland for three weeks and have been attending classes for two weeks so far, and things are going well. My school is DCAS, and classes are only 4 days a week, 4 hours a day. The teachers are all dedicated to teaching. However, individual student needs vary, and everyone's learning goals are different. I'm lucky to have had some interesting teachers in the past two weeks; they teach while we play games, memorize vocabulary, and practice grammar.

As for finding a job, everyone's situation is different. Personally, I think finding work will definitely be challenging (it's the same in any country), but it's not impossible. It's not a problem to earn extra money here to supplement your living expenses in Ireland, because everyone's earning capacity and cost of living are different. However, I personally suggest that you don't come to Ireland with the mindset of making a fortune, otherwise, I think you'll find it difficult to adapt to the study abroad experience, because the essence of a study abroad program is still learning.

My consultant is Olivia. Although we haven't actually met in person (because I couldn't schedule a sharing session in Malaysia ), she has been following up on my situation since I registered. From pre-departure preparations to settling in after arriving in Ireland, she has reminded me and helped me solve problems. She even reminded me on the day of the visa application so I wouldn't forget. She was really thoughtful.
